Meet the Team
Shawn McCann MD
Dr. Shawn McCann believes restoration of your optimal health is best served with a functional approach to uncover the underlying reasons for your current health challenges. "It is important to take the time to listen to all our patient's health concerns. We will then look for and treat the cause(s), not just treat the symptoms with drugs as so often occurs in medicine". Dr. McCann Dr. McCann received his medical degree in 1995 from Louisiana State University Medical Center in New Orleans. After internship he went on to serve in the US Air Force Medical Corps for 3 ½ years. Upon completion of his commission he was honorably discharged, completed residency training in Family Medicine through the UC Davis network in Modesto, CA and went on to became Board Certified in Family Medicine. This was then followed by 2 more years of training in Palliative Medicine in San Diego, CA as a clinical/research fellow. Since completion of training Dr. McCann has worked in various primary care locations including North Carolina, Louisiana and Queensland Australia before settling in Portland OR in 2014. Along the way Dr. McCann has developed a strong appreciation for the uniqueness of each individual and the complexity of health matters. It is his hope that he can pay forward his education and experiences to better the lives of our patients. Dr. McCann is excited to be a part of the Concussion & Whiplash team. Lisa Pendleton has been practicing massage since 2004, with a focus on the treatment of injuries associated with auto, work, recreation and home accidents. Her intuitive touch, coupled with her skill in using multiple massage techniques, has been shown to help reduce her clients’ healing time and increase function for acute and chronic injuries. Lisa uses a technique to “unhook” tight muscles in a virtually pain-free way. This is a preferred method with clients with head injuries, especially those with headaches, as it is so gentle. It has been shown to accelerate the healing associated with neck, back and head injuries in many cases. As the patient becomes more relaxed, she then integrates muscle release techniques and gentle stretching. Her treatment goals are to make sure her clients are comfortable, and in a safe and trusting space. Lisa is excited to align herself with Concussion and Whiplash Clinic and add additional skills to our health care team, so our patients can get the best care possible.
